Rotarians in 200 countries and 33,700 clubs may differ in customs, but every member shares one thing in common: they were proposed for membership.
 
The process to propose new members to the Rotary Club of Novi, Michigan is simple and brief. First, introduce your guest to Rotary by inviting them to attend a Thursday lunch meeting or one of our many fellowship event or club volunteer opportunities. Be sure to introduce your guest to your Rotarian friends and Club leadership.
 
If they express an interest in becoming a member, refer them to the Membership Chairperson Wayne Bullen or and member of the membership committee who will follow up and explain the our membership requirements and new member process.
 
Next, the prospective member will be asked to complete an application for membership and will be required to have two Rotarian Sponsors. They will also be asked to complete an interview with a various club members which can usually be done at a Prospective Member Orientation or before or after a club lunch meeting.
 
Then, the candidate's application is reviewed, submitted to the Membership Committee, and then presented to the Board of Directors for approval. After Board approval, there is a 10-day posting period where members may offer comment on the applicant. After this period, the new member is presented with their red member badge at a club meeting.
